Do I Really Want Heaven Now?
I asked my wife the other night if she believes in heaven. By asking her the question, my objective was two-fold. I was curious if she believed in an actual, physical space where it’s “all good”. At the same time, I wanted to explore what my thoughts on the subject were because I wasn’t really concerned or interested about what happens after my current persona passes on, but how the concept of experiencing heaven can be like right now.
It’s All Good
In my last entry, I raised the challenge about what I really want. Since starting this blog, I’ve become frozen. Stuck in the mud. I am a little shocked to find that I do not know what I want. I have the strange feeling that there are many more people out there just like me. Going through repetitive motions. Lives without a grand plan. This got me thinking.
Why Not Plan Heaven On Earth Right Now?
In other words, why wait? I think this is why the question of what I really want was so challenging. Maybe there was guilt or doubt surfacing every time I thought of a concept like living in a grand home or having some sort of external possession. These were the counter objective feelings I would experience that caused me to be stuck. Now, by changing the focus, and asking a new question, I might be able to determine what I want by exploring what heaven on Earth could be like. The easiest way to do this is to create a list. Here goes:
-
Heaven is: my family. I love my family. I love my children. I love my wife. I love me…of course I do…I am the one experiencing all of this.
-
Heaven is: my friends. I love my friends. I choose them wisely and they share my life experiences with me which have the effect of enhancing the experiences.
-
Heaven is: a beautiful place to live. Not just one place though. I do have a dream home in mind. But the Earth is such a big place that I don’t want to be stuck in just one place. I want to experience many places. I will travel to many other dream locations but always have a place to call home. I know exactly where this home is going to be. It’s not too big but just the right size to make my friends and family feel the warm embrace and love in a home. For whatever reason, the actual, physical home is important to me. I will be using an entry to show clips of homes, perhaps around the country, that I find a great attraction to.
-
Heaven is: travelling. I love to experience new places. See new people. Taste new things. Smell different fragrances. See different styles. See beautiful things. The excitement of arriving at a new destination in and of itself is wonderful. It’s like being born again. We arrive into a place where every corner is new. Every face is different. There are so many places I love.
-
Heaven is: a successful career. I don’t want to just hang out in heaven. I wouldn’t mind massages, being fed grapes and getting fanned by beautiful women now and then, but I couldn’t do that all day long. I have talents. I want to experience them to the fullest and share them. Right now, I enjoy the profession of equity trading immensely. I love the new group I’m in and I’m expanding my menu (creating a growth and income portfolio) to enhance my experience. The sky (heaven?) is the limit within this field and the beauty of it is that it is such a wide open field with many different flavors. The more I explore, the more fulfilling it becomes.
-
Heaven is: Surfing. I love surfing so much. There isn’t a day that passes where I do not think about surfing. If I could, I would surf every day in heaven.
-
Heaven is: Sex. Making love. Whatever you want to call sexual ecstasy. I am not going to deny something that I think about everyday. It’s real and it’s natural and I love it.
There are many, many more heavenly things that would make it on this list. The list of seven above is a great base or starting point. The beauty and wonderful thing about life is that we as humans like surprises. We might grumble and say that life would be better if everything worked out the “way we planned it” but we would totally be lying to ourselves. I think that would be boring. For example, I could plan a place to travel and make a list or description of exactly how I want the weather to be, the places to go, the food to eat but I would be bored if there wasn’t an element of surprise. You know, experience that something new and different.
How can I turn this list into something objective. The first start, as aforementioned, is to find pictures of homes and post them in this blog. Perhaps I could add dream cars and so on. The travelling portion, I will create a post and list all the places I love to travel to. In another blog, I will create and explore my career further.
This is a good start………….
What do I want?
What do I want? Sounds like a simple request, right? Not so. I make many decisions throughout the day. These decisions are based upon maintaining a vision of the world as I see it. These are my actions and reactions.
Up until now, I’ve developed a steadfast vision or list in my mind’s eye of all the things that I love. This list is my own and developed or evolved by simply being absolutely honest about the things in my world that give me the most pleasure. There were no rules. If the things on the list felt good and nobody was getting hurt (ok, that might be a rule) than it made my “I love” such and such list.
What about expanding that list to include wealth and riches? In other words, if the “I Love List” works, I can expand it to Create wealth as well. I know this will work and is totally natural. The objective at this point is holding steadfast to a vision of what I want.
Absolute Acceptance
There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created. -The Science of Success by Wallace D. Wattles.
My first impression of this statement (fact) is that it sounds like what most people would call magic. Man can create something out of nothing? Poof..just like that? Are there any actual examples of such a thing? Certainly, we’ve created a world of tools and technology by the use of our hands and the material supply that the Earth has in Her possession. We had an idea, and through trial and error, we created something. Like the automobile, for example, or an airplane, a computer, a camera and even light. Our ancestors, let’s say the vast majority of them from only 200 years ago, would’ve called such things magic if a seemingly sane person would have described these technologies to them, would they have not? Not surprisingly, here they are today and here we are in absolute acceptance of their creation because we thought of them and created them.
Well, this still doesn’t quite answer or give truth to the above statement because it implies the next step in our evolution. These are the creations of things we think about just by thinking about them that requires no manual labor to produce them. The power of thought.
Like our ancestors, most of us will call this magic. I think the current best way to describe such a thing is what we call coincidences. In other words, these are the events which, out of what we define as coincidence, that manifest because we simply think of them. Those of us who notice and do not readily dismiss such events, know that this is simply the truth and the magic that is too readily cast aside by quickly vanishing paradigms of our past desperately clinging on by the threads of worlds and ways of living that do not fit who we are becoming. These worlds have names like politics and religion.
Second Journal Entry
Second Journal Entry. Brilliant. I know. Thank you. So where am I going with this? The answer is simple. My intention is to use this blog as my diary to track the growth of my financial wealth over the next year. The official start date or launch date to tabulate the wealth will start on December o1, 2007. Why wait until the New Year like everybody else I say?!
Between now and the start date, I’ll have a good idea about how this will start to shape up and how it will work towards my benefit (and maybe, the benefits of others who read this).
First Journal Entry
I guess this is the first step, the first post. This is my diary or online journal.
